Personal Advisor - Children and Young People’s Services

Liverpool

Umbrella Pay- £18.40 per hour

28/03/2024 – 3 months initially

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm, 35 hrs/week

Our client are seeking an experienced Personal Advisor to join a Team based in Liverpool.

* Provide tailored support, accurate guidance and advice on transition planning for young people leaving care

* Meet the individual needs of young people

* To ensure that all children have comprehensive pathway plans, and these are regularly reviewed

* Ensure that care leavers are living in suitable accommodation, and are supported into education and employment

* Work pro-actively with young people to equip them emotionally, socially and with the practical skills required for more independent living

* Complete visits and keep in constant contact with the young people

* Promote the young people’s independence

* Liaise with a range of agencies including Early Help & Prevention Service, Education and Careers Advice Service, Police, YOS, Health, Housing, Higher/Further Education providers

* Develop and maintain close relationships with the young people all partner agencies who play their part in supporting the care leavers

* Keep and maintain accurate, up to date records of all work

* Maintain effective communication and actively contribute to team case discussions, staff development sessions, childcare reviews and other meetings as required

* Participate in individual supervision with the line manager, as well as undertaking appropriate training and developmental opportunities

Requirements

* UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance

* Direct experience working with young people in, or leaving, the care system

* Experience of child assessments

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
