Nuclear Engineering Manager

Rates: £50.47 PAYE, £70 umbrella (inside IR35)

Location: Aldermaston, Reading RG7 4PR

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role within our Engineering organisation, supporting existing and new high hazard facilities and operations? I am looking for passionate individuals who are committed to maintaining the integrity of our engineered safeguards and ensuring nuclear safety.

About the Role: As a Nuclear Engineering Manager, you will be at the forefront of Engineering Nuclear Risk Management. This involves overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our engineered safeguards, supporting our nuclear safety cases, and conducting periodic safety assessments. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing a live safety case for a facility, ensuring compliance with legislation, Nuclear Licence Conditions, and standards throughout the asset lifecycle.
Providing management of a professional engineering service in support of the CASD Programme and company's strategic goals.
Collaborating across functions to facilitate communication between the Facility, Safety Case Subject Matter Experts, and Technical Authorities.Qualifications and Experience: To excel in this role, we're seeking candidates with the following:

Experience in a highly regulated environment, ensuring quality and timely delivery of engineering design and outputs for safe operations.
Proficiency in multi-disciplinary engineering design and guardianship of high integrity assets throughout their lifecycle.
Ability to articulate technical complexities, direct work, and lead teams effectively.
Knowledge of safety legislation and standards (e.g., HSAWA, CDM) and their application in engineering.
Experience in configuration and change control governance, particularly within a Nuclear licensed site.
Familiarity with maintaining live safety cases and conducting assessments to support periodic safety reviews.Additional Requirements: Candidates must be British Nationals and have resided in the UK for the past five years for SC clearance (and ten years for DV). Dual nationality may be considered for certain roles.
