Job Description

We currently have a great opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our Care Plus team at The Sandford Nursing Home in Church Stretton on a part-time, permanent basis.

We are looking for a dedicated professional to bring our values to life and ensure our customers receive outstanding services.

The Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist with the preparation of meals and snacks for residents within guidelines and ensure the service delivered promotes the independence, dignity, rights and choices of the people that we work with.

In addition, you will carry out general dining room duties including laying and clearing tables, transport meals to dining room and other eating locations as required and washing up all items used in the kitchen area. You will also carry out simple preparation of food as required by the cook and be able to maintain cooking and storage areas in a clean and tidy state in line with cleaning schedules.

Skills and experience required:

* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work schedules

* Good communication skills

* Previous experience of working with older people (desirable)

* Food Safety Level 1 qualification (desirable)

* To work positively with colleagues as a team

* Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced DBS is required.
