Job Description

The business is seeking a skilled and experienced Tool & Die Technician to join their team. As a Tool & Die Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of precision dies used in the manufacturing process.
Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and safety of the company production line.
Tool & Die Technician Salary and Benefits
£30,000 - £40,000
Four day working week, Monday Thursday, 6:50am 5:05pm
10% employer pension
25 days holiday, plus statutory
4x salary death in service
Paid overtime is available
Commutable From:Coventry, Birmingham, Loughborough, Northampton
Tool & Die Technician Candidate Requirements
City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
Proven experience in tooling, particularly within the context of manufacturing precision components.
Previous experience working to extremely tight tolerances within a tooling environment.
Knowledge of materials used in die fabrication and their properties.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to identify areas for improvement (ability to process their data to produce KPI`s).
Excellent problem-solving abilities to address issues related to die performance, production efficiency, and quality.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex ideas clearly.
Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
Experience in high-volume manufacturing is a plus.
Tool & Die Technician Key Responsibilities
Supervise the assembly of dies, coordinating with the wider team to ensure precision and accuracy.
Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on dies to prevent downtime and maintain consistent production output, highlighting tool wear.
Monitor production processes closely, identifying issues related to die performance, tool wear, or other factors affecting product quality and production speed.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with dies or production equipment, implementing corrective actions promptly. (breakdowns to minimise downtime).
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the team and the production environment.
Learn processes and assist production in all aspects (set-up, general operating).
