Job Description

This position is to join our team of design managers who lead on the management of design across all design disciplines, and design sub consultants in the delivery of complex large multi disciplinary infrastructure design projects. In your role you will liaise with the project controls team to manage the commercial aspects of the design and align design risks with commercial outcomes. You will lead on technical risk management and mitigations for the client and will be working on large, multi disciplinary projects in the defence, science, nuclear and government property sectors.
You will have leadership skills commensurate with large infrastructure projects and management capability to report directly to senior leadership both within tetra Tech and to the client.
Pre Contract;
To provide commercial and contractual assurance and governance in the project bidding stage and, thereafter, contract mobilisation
To identify and coordinate the multi-disciplinary design team inputs to the bid process
To align design team experience with the project technical risk profile and develop initial project risk plan
To ensure compliance at project opportunity outset with the Tetra Tech Project Lifecycle governance process
To develop and manage the Project Execution Plan in conjunction with design discipline leads, including design deliverables and programme
Post Contract Commercial;
To manage the cost and fee project performance of the appointed Tetra Tech team and third party suppliers, including invoice/debt management, to achieve the targeted margins
To actively manage the change control mechanisms to maintain/improve the project commercial performance
To actively manage the commercial and contractual project risk profile, including pre-emptive mitigation
To ensure compliance with all mandated project commercial reporting mechanisms, including audit requirements
To ensure compliance throughout each project design stage with the Tetra Tech Project Lifecycle governance process and the Project Execution Plan
Post Contract Project Management;
To manage the client interface for all design deliverables, including relevant stakeholder engagement
To lead and manage the overall design process across multi-disciplinary teams (including third party suppliers) to ensure project outputs are delivered to meet technical scope, health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
To work with the lead designer and other design discipline leads to develop a fully resourced programme and monitor resource levels of design team against deliverable milestones
To ensure compliance throughout the design process with the Tetra Tech Project Lifecycle governance process, including relevant data security
To maintain and update the Project Execution Plan, including multi-disciplinary team engagement
