Employee Relations Manager
Newcastle, NE12 8BU
Salary : £45,000 - £55,0000 per annum
Working Hours: 40 hours per week 9am to 6pm, Mon-Fri (Hybrid)
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays
Verisure are in search of a new Employee Relations / Health & Safety Manager!
This role is based within the HR department, and you will be reporting directly to the HR Director, The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for facilitating employee relations and resolving human resource issues on behalf of the the company from a start up perspective.
The Employee Relations Manager will be dealing with everything related to employee and management relations, but also health and safety at work to help employees and management understand each other.
They will manage a team of 2 ER Advisors and will work closely with the HRBP team to provide advice, guidance and support and be a subject matter expert on the full employee lifecycle, ensuring a high-quality service to employees and managers.
Your key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Employee Relations:
Lead and develop the ER team to deliver a high-quality service across the full employee lifecycle.

Manage and be the point of escalation on various ER queries throughout the Company working in conjunction with the HR services and other stakeholders.

Support the ER team and HR Business Partners with complex employee relations issues.

Create and improve processes associated with HR policy and employee relations issues

Train managers on specific ER topics

Develop effective working relationships with internal and external clients and continually search for ways to increase client satisfaction.

Keep up to date with employment legislation and employee relationship trends and support the development of ER/HR function.

Oversight of long-terms absences and Occupational Health referrals.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for Home Office sponsorship

Health, Safety and Wellbeing:
Promote and develop a positive health and safety culture throughout the Company.

Ensure compliance with all H&S legislation by working closely with external advisors and internal stakeholders.

Chair the monthly H&S Committee meeting and be responsible ensuring the action plans are completed.

Ensure accidents, incidents, near misses and diseases are properly reported, recorded and investigated.

Promote and champion health and wellbeing.

Key Skills and Experience
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team

Excellent knowledge of employment law and how to practically apply it within a fast-paced organisation.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Analytical with good attention to detail when reviewing data and process

Ability to work under pressure, maintaining accuracy whilst achieving timescales

High computer literacy including advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Professional qualifications and education
Chartered CIPD (or equivalent)
