Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Department: Crane Maintenance Team
Location: Shotton (CH5)
Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum + Bonus

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of their client, an international business with nearly 50 years' experience in the development and manufacture of pre-finished steels. You'll work with equipment that's used worldwide in an abundance of sectors, from appliances, cladding, bakeware and general building work.
What you will do
You'll be responsible for mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and repair of mechanical equipment within the Manufacturing Engineering function for high level bay maintenance of cranes.
The client are also looking for someone with a real hands-on attitude to their work, as general production line maintenance will also be required during periods of downtime.
As part of this job, you'll be responsible for:
Health, Safety and Environmental performance adhering to the works IMS procedures and PPE instructions / procedures and facilitating the team safety meetings
Undertake preventive and corrective maintenance on Overhead travelling cranes
Repair mechanical items to a high standard from existing drawings to the expected delivery period
Assist with development of designs for manufacture of spares for cranes
Undertake repairs and refurbishments of existing equipment
Take an active role in CI, maintaining and improving safety, and housekeeping standards within the Crane maintenance Team
Undertake work for Workshops, auxiliary plant and downshifts as required
Undertake Zone Safety audits at a given frequency as per Safety Sub Plan
Undertake Risk assessments and LOLERs for activities to be undertaken
What you will need
The successful applicant will be a time served fitter and have adequate relevant plant experience in a steel and construction related industry. An NVQ level 3 in Mechanical engineering is also desirable for this role.
