Job Description

Role: Mechanical Technician
Salary: £33,600 + (15% shift allowance)
Location: Blackwood
3 shifts
Rhino Recruitment is working on this role on behalf of their client who are looking for a new candidate to join their engineering department.
We are looking for a candidate who is flexible and uses their own imitative to deal with problems that may occur in this role, but someone who is a team player with knowledge of using high speed and/or food processing production machines.
Key Responsibilities:
Provision of engineering and operational support to a manufacturing area
Machine setting, to achieve product specification and performance
Maintenance of automated inspection systems
Fault finding and corrective action
Machine inspection
Responding to minor breakdowns
Preventative maintenance
Major breakdowns
To achieve compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental
requirements, Food Safety requirements, Legislative requirements,
GMP and company policies and procedures.
Preparation of sub-assembly
Other tasks as reasonably requested by the Manager
To maximise the department machines output and maintain the manufacturing processes within the designed specification.
To work with other team members to continuously improve manufacturing performance.
Qualifications/ requirements
A formal qualification in appropriate subject ONC/HNC, BTEC/City and Guilds in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Discipline/apprenticeship
Knowledge of high speed and/or food processing production
Machine setting
Fault finding and problem solving
Plc, pneumatics, robotics desirable
Adaptable and able to connect with others
Team orientated/ collaborative

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
