A fantastic organisation based in Birmingham (West Midlands) that has a global team of over 4000 employees who’re one of the world leaders in the design and manufacturing of Food Packaging are now seeking to hire for a brand new Embedded Software Engineer to join the hugely popular and successful organisation on a permanent basis. This excellent organisation performed extremely well during the COVID-19 pandemic whereby no employee was made redundant, no employee was put on furlough in return great positivity throughout the business that experienced an additional 105 new hires, company profit and employees were received salary bonuses between 2-6%.
 
Salaries on offer & work from home policy:
The salary on offer for the successful Embedded Software Engineer is £37,000 - £43,000 per annum. Hybrid working of 3 days working in the office and 2 days working from home is available. If you prefer working 5 days in the office that is available too. No sponsorship is available for this role.
 
Embedded Software Engineer Key Skills:

Degree, HND in relevant field for Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or similar
1-3 years industry experience
Understanding of developing for embedded platforms and environments
Embedded Software Programming in C
A good understanding of basic hardware and its interface with software systems
Network interface protocols – SPI, I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, Ethernet, TCP/IP
Microcontroller & Microprocessor experience
Ability to read electronic schematics and component datasheets
Self-starter, good team player and good communication skills Nice to have skills:

Other programming languages – C++, C#, .NET, Java, Python, Qt
GUI (Graphical User Interfaces)
Version Control Systems – GIT, SVN, JIRA or similar
Software engineering tools e.g. IDEs, compilers, build processes, debuggers, emulators and test frameworks
RTOS – FreeRTOS, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or similar
