Catholic Music Director $50-$75 RAF Lakenheath, England
The Role
Are you an experienced music director? Do you have the ability to lead and inspire a choir and congregation in worship?
We are looking for a Catholic Music Director to take on the musical directorship at RAF Lakenheath Chapel. This includes recruitment, rehearsals, choir direction for Sunday Masses, and additional services as required.
This is a 5-year contract position offering $50.00-$75.00 per hour for 2 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of music for the 0800 and 1115 Sunday Catholic Mass and other services.
Work closely with the Chaplain to select appropriate musical pieces.
Lead the choir and congregation in worship, and train choir members to do the same.
Arrange and score music suitable for the Mass and other Chaplains program functions.
Conduct weekly rehearsals outside of the 60-minute window prior to services.
Provide a written music plan for the Liturgical Year to the Ranking Catholic Chaplain.

The Person
2+ years of post-secondary education in music or equivalent experience in a church setting.
Ability to sing and lead choral music in accordance with Roman Catholic liturgical norms.
Proficient in reading and interpreting vocal and instrumental scores, including Gregorian Chant.
Familiar with Catholic faith, liturgical needs, and practices as defined by key Catholic documents and statements.
