The Role
Do you have experience in directing a praise team and engaging a congregation in meaningful worship?
We are seeking a Protestant Contemporary Music Director for RAF Lakenheath Chapel. This role involves musical directorship for the Contemporary Service, including all rehearsals and services. This is a 5-year contract position offering $50.00-$75.00 per hour for 18 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead musical direction for the Contemporary Service, including rehearsals and live services.
Work closely with the Chaplain to select music, ensuring all selections align with the service's theme and message.
Lead the praise team and congregation in worship, including singing and instrumental performances.
Collaborate in planning the music program's annual calendar, budget, and volunteer training.
Manage and return all government-owned music scores and equipment.
Ensure no unauthorized duplication of copyrighted materials.
Arrange, score, and provide A/V lyrics for all services.

The Person
2+ years of post-secondary education in music or equivalent experience in a church setting.
Familiar with various styles of Protestant worship, including traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music.
Skilled in sight-reading, arranging, playing, and scoring music.
Strong understanding of the core tenets of the Christian faith and the role of worship.
Ability to lead and recruit volunteers for the music program.
