Job Description

My client are currently working towards expansion into the Automotive sector by utilising their liquid cooled resistor as a braking device for heavy vehicles (buses, lorries trucks etc) and Fuel Cell applications.

Job Overview

The role requires a candidate who is ambitious and motivated, who is keen to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practice and have relevant experience in a manufacturing company.

Responsibilities

* Take the lead on all Health and Safety activities onsite, including creating and maintaining accurate and up to date health and safety records (including risk assessments, policies accident investigations, training)

* Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations

* Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment

* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions

* Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident reports, inspection findings, and recommendations for improvement

* Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and safe work practices

* Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability

* Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to workplace safety

* Assist with the development, improvement and auditing of the health and safety systems (including ISO 45001)

Skills, Qualification and Experience

* Experience as health and safety officer (or similar) within a manufacturing environment

* Experience with ISO 45001 (desirable)

* NEBOSH qualification (desirable)

* Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

* Proficient in report writing and data analysis
