Manual Machinist – 3 day working week

Are you an experienced manual machinist looking for an exciting opportunity in the a booming industry? We are currently seeking a skilled individual to join our client’s team due to succession planning. The ideal candidate will work 3 days per week on days and have quality experience with basic milling and turning and ideally be time served.

Responsibilities:

* Operate and maintain manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

* Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

* Set up and adjust machines to ensure accurate and precise machining.

* Perform machining operations to fabricate pump and compressor components.

* Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards. (visual)

* Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues as they arise.

* Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize machining processes.

Requirements:

* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manual machinist in a marine or related industry.

* Proficient in operating manual machining equipment.

* Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

* Familiarity with machining various materials, including metals and alloys.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

* Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
