Tendering & Estimating Engineer
Working from home, the successful candidate must possess demonstrable experience and technical expertise from within the HV power, utilities and / or critical national electrical infrastructure sectors.

Overview
Due to continued expansion and the commitment to sustained and profitable growth, our client now wishes to appoint a highly motivated and industry experienced Tendering & Estimating Engineer for their UK wide HV power business. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, the main purpose of this role will be to take responsibility for managing the development and production of highly competitive tenders and estimates for multiple contracts, frameworks or singular projects, ensuring maximum opportunity and minimum risk, and that clients receive a high-quality service on time and to challenging budget requirements. The successful candidate will also contribute to other preconstruction activities, ensuring successful project acquisition and timely handover to operations. This role allows you the opportunity to tender for contracts across the UK, with a key focus on building long-term relationships with new and existing clients, whilst overseeing the quotation and tendering process through all stages.
The Role
Preparation of tenders from LV to 11kv
Providing quotations and tenders for turnkey projects utilising in-house resources and supply chain partners
Liaison with new and existing clients, including attending meetings if required
Working with manufacturers and suppliers to develop partnerships for turnkey solutions
Following up quotations and attaining feedback for both successful and unsuccessful bids
Attend site surveys and route walks if necessary
Establishing client requirements, then providing quotations tailored to their needs, and liaising with internal departments, and submitting final project abilities to clients
Evaluate supplier and subcontract returns to ensure compliance with tender specifications
Accurately undertake any cost schedules and perform data entry into the relevant estimating software / systems
Draft commentary regarding exclusions and clarifications associated with return offers
Assist in creation / management of enhanced processes for estimating teams
Managing client and key stakeholder requests in a professional and timely manner
The Person
Possessing previous experience in a similar role from the HV power or energy sector
Possess strong commercial and business awareness to enable you to identify and recommend appropriate bid proposals that meet client needs
Highly motivated and accurate, as attention to detail is vital
Proficient in the use of software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc
Excellent communication, including ability to adapt your style according to the audience, combined with outstanding listening skills and the ability to follow constructive instruction
Utilise information and industry knowledge to produce innovative and competitive tenders
Strong interpersonal skills, along with a demonstrated ability to use your own initiative, as well as work collaboratively in a team
Ability to produce high quality proposals and reports with minimal supervision
Ideally possess the ability to evaluate possible work scope gaps on tenders
