Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Document Controller to join their expanding team.


* Controlling project documentation

* Following and improving document control procedures

* Ensuring all documentation meets formal requirements and required standards

* Sorting, storing and retrieving electronic and hard copy documents on behalf of clients and industry professionals

* Producing document progress reports for senior managers

* Conducting regular reviews and document audits

* Helping in the planning stages of a specific project

* Ensuring documents are shared at key times to facilitate timely project completion

* Keep track of important project documents including project plans, drawings and contracts

* Performing data entry tasks when project documents need updating

* Printing and distributing project documents to directors and the team

* Converting paper documents to an electronic format as and when required

* Keeping files organised by project

* Managing requests for documentation


* Have a minimum of 5 years experience in document control – two years or more in the construction industry would be an advantage

* Hold an NVQ or a CPD credited document control training qualification would be an advantage

* Have knowledge of ASITE, BIW, 4Projects or any other similar document control system would be an advantage

* Be able to work with the directors to assist in the set up of internal systems and ensure all parties provide information to meet deadlines

* Be proficient in Microsoft Office

* Be an assertive and effective communicator

* Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy

* Have good organisation skills

* Be a positive team member
