Job Title: Information Governance Manager

Annual Salary: £35411 - £38296 depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Length of Contract: 4 months with potential to be made permanent
Hours: 37 per week

GI Group are now seeking to appoint an Information Governance Manager to our public sector client based in Stratford-upon-Avon. The Information Governance Manager will devise, implement and review all information governance policies, strategies and procedures relating to Data Protection legislation, the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations.

Main Duties of the Information Governance Manager:

To devise, embed and review all information governance policies, strategies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and good practice.
To fulfil the statutory role of Data Protection Officer.
To advise the public, staff, the Senior Management Team and Members on the legal implications of individual requests for information in relation to Information Management Legislation.
To ensure corporate compliance with Information Management Legislation.
To embed a culture of information management good practice personally assisting any high risk or poor performing service areas in the development of bespoke procedures.
To provide or where necessary to commission an appropriate level of training to staff and members in relation to Information Management Legislation.
To manage all staff within the designated teams effectively and efficiently.
To monitor expenditure and income against agreed revenue and capital budgets for the service and identify corrective action as required.Role Criteria:

Educated to at least A-Level standard
Expertise in National and European Data Protection laws and practices
Experience of monitoring and auditing systems to ensure compliance
In depth understanding of the UK General Data Protection Regulation
Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations
Able to provide confident, robust, and credible advice to the most senior staff
Resilient to challenge, with the highest level of integrity and professional ethics
