The team
International Affairs is a cross-practice, specialist offer that represents foreign governments, international organisations, foundations and companies addressing geopolitical, economic, humanitarian/development and climate issues. We create and lead integrated campaigns that tackle big challenges and have an impact upon the world.
The role
You will bring your passion for international issues to drive activity for clients in country reputation, trade and economic development, philanthropy and climate. This includes developing narratives that are compelling and persuasive; delivering thoughtful media coverage based on knowledge of the UK and international media landscape; identifying and managing platforms, events and other opportunities to engage with business, academic and policy audiences; and supporting on issues and crisis management.
You will be a day-to-day point person for your clients, offering strategic input based on your understanding of their priorities and the wider context that affects them. You will also play a key role in providing excellent client service as a strong, organised project manager who ensures we remain on track and on time and teaches and mentors junior team members.
The day to day Driving media coverage across UK and international media, including crafting creative media angles, developing comment opportunities, and creating content for media.
Enabling clients to build closer relationships with stakeholders by developing and managing events, roundtables, partnerships and briefings.
Ensuring the smooth running of accounts by managing team activity, overseeing the delivery of timely, high-quality deliverables, providing feedback and guidance to junior staff, and supporting on budgeting and financial management.
Building effective client relationships by using your understanding of your clients' priorities and pain points to offer strategic counsel and anticipate client requests and needs.
Contributing an international perspective and cultural awareness to help clients communicate to UK, European and global audiences.
Being actively involved in the team's new business efforts, including contributing to proposals and pitches, supporting marketing activity and networking with prospects.
Working with other FleishmanHillard offices, ensuring processes and systems work efficiently and supporting the development of multi-country campaigns hubbed from London.
Delivering continuous feedback both upwards and downwards to help us be more inclusive, supporting and effective as a team.
About you Experienced in international affairs
Thrive on developing and executing successful media relations strategies.
Strong relationship-building skills, ability to engage with key stakeholders and influencers.
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail with excellent project management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a focus on delivering results.
