Operations Manager

We are at the forefront of our industry, and we're searching for an experienced Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Contracts Director and playing a pivotal role in our senior management team, the Operations Manager will oversee the safe day-to-day operations of our projects in the Midlands and North region. This role is critical in ensuring collaborative planning with our delivery team and supply chain, with a strong focus on health and safety, profitability, employee motivation, and effective management.
Role Overview:
This multifaceted role demands a unique blend of leadership, organizational prowess, and an in-depth understanding of operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and manage the forward programme to optimize resource utilization and identify potential resource shortfalls that may impact project delivery.
Chair daily and weekly programme meetings to ensure alignment.
Utilize dashboards to monitor compliance and drive improvement.
Attend weekly commercial review meetings, raise and oversee actions for the operations team.
Execute actions as directed by the Contract Director or Managing QS to minimize company exposure to debt and facilitate retentions.
Inspire, lead, and develop the team to enhance motivation and operational efficiency.
Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive environment, including developing career plans for direct reports and resolving issues.
Ensure all surfacing activities comply with health and safety regulations.
The Ideal Candidate:
Extensive experience in surfacing or construction management within multi-site operations.
Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost control and value optimization.
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
Exceptional management and leadership skills with a talent for guiding and supporting teams.
Proactive advocate for a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture.
Ability to adapt to changing commercial conditions and implement practical solutions to challenges.
