Position: IT Technician

Reporting to: Network Manager

Job Overview:

The ICT Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our organization's technology infrastructure. While direct tutoring of individuals is not part of this role, your contributions greatly impact the learning environment for students, teachers, and the broader community. You will work closely with the Senior & Lead ICT Technicians and report to the Network Manager, assisting in the management, maintenance, and development of our ICT resources to facilitate safe and effective use by staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor the organization's ICT facilities daily, proactively identifying and addressing any issues.
Conduct routine network management tasks and maintain meticulous records.
Set up hardware devices and perform initial diagnostics.
Maintain, upgrade, and repair a variety of hardware devices and peripherals, including software installations.
Diagnose and resolve PC, peripheral, and application errors efficiently.
Provide guidance on hardware and software compatibility in accordance with user requirements.
Configure equipment settings, including switches, to optimize functionality.
Administer server software, manage access rights, and enforce data protection policies.
Implement virus protection and security measures, ensuring data security on devices.
Prioritize issue resolution, coordinating external support as needed.
Collaborate with reprographics staff to address printer and copier issues throughout the organization.
Offer on-demand support to teaching staff during lessons when required.
Oversee infrastructure enhancements within rooms, including ethernet cabling installations.
Contribute to upgrade and summer works program planning, offering cost-effective solutions.Essential:

Proficiency in Windows operating systems, including system and user administration:
Active directory
Group policy
Software deployment
Microsoft 365
Subnets and VLAN
Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive willingness to learn.
Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Desirable:

Experience working with:
VMWare vSphere
Papercut
Jamf Pro
VOIP management
Veeam
Meraki Wi-Fi
Familiarity with configuring layer 2 switches.
Experience managing virtualized Windows server infrastructure.
Proficiency with iOS and macOS.
