Financial Accountant Remote - CV-Library

Our global client is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis, working remotely from the Netherlands.

This role would suit a qualified accountant with previous experience preferably within the hotel industry. This accountant will be responsible for end-to-end accounting for a number of legal entities, especially the operational entities for a portfolio across Europe and coordinating the compliance deliverables with the local service providers.

The successful individual will have strong technical accounting knowledge especially local GAAP knowledge (UK, German, Dutch or other European). Experience with VAT returns and other regulatory filings is a must, IFRS knowledge would also be beneficial. This person will also have good MS Office skills including Excel, MS Dynamic 365 or Navision (ERP software) and Opera PMS would be a plus.

Duties will include:

Responsible for the end-to-end GL accounting activities and the entire month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close process for a group of in-sourced legal entities
Posting of G/L and transactional journals, this includes the data transfer from other relevant systems (ie Opera PMS)
Monthly Balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis, support the preparation of forecasts, budgets and monthly reporting package
Completion of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
Coordinate the compliance deliverables with the local service providers (i.e. CIT, Payroll etc.)
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Coordinate and review the input from the Assistant Accountants on A/R and A/P ledgers
Contribute to the preparation and filing of the annual consolidated financial statements as well as preparation of the statutory financial accounts
Supervise Intercompany billing, Intercompany charges and Intercompany reconciliations
Develop and coach junior accountants and assistant accounts
Participation in Finance projects
Any other task as assigned
