This is a great opportunity to join a publicly listed company who specialise in designing and manufacturing cutting-edge flow control solutions for the heating and utility sectors. This company are a global leader, and are headquartered in Ipswich.

Senior Buyer overview:

We invite you to embark on an exciting 12-month journey with them as a vital member of the Strategic Sourcing team. Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the global supply chain strategy for assigned commodities.

Senior Buyer responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of a global supply chain strategy for assigned commodities, aligning with Company's goals for cost reduction, supplier on-time delivery, lead-times, quality, and inventory reduction.
Collaborate to rationalise the supply base, drive sourcing from low-cost suppliers, and leverage indirect material and services spend across their business units.
Negotiate and implement Long-Term Supplier Agreements, obtaining competitive bids, analysing costs, and ensuring contracts align with total cost considerations, quality standards, and delivery capabilities.
Continuously monitor and enhance supplier performance, supporting functions and business units to address supplier-related challenges.
Lead periodic Business Reviews with key suppliers to enhance quality, delivery, cost, and service performance while fostering strategic alignment.

Senior Buyer requirements:

Knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance metrics.
Desirable experience in global sourcing.
Familiarity with e-Sourcing tools is a plus.

Personal Characteristics:

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely, fact-based decisions.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of thriving in multifunctional global teams within a dynamic work environment.
Direct experience implementing lean concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, and more.
