Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Credit Risk. As the Head of Credit Risk, you will play a critical role in developing and executing the credit risk strategy for Lenkie. You will be responsible for leading a team of credit risk analysts, overseeing the credit assessment process, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise and strategic vision will drive the success of our lending operations and contribute to the long-term growth of the organisation.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the credit risk strategy:
Establish and maintain credit risk policies, frameworks, and procedures.
Define credit risk appetite, risk tolerance, and key risk indicators.
Monitor and analyse credit risk metrics to identify trends and potential areas of concern. Present findings to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
Continuously refine credit risk models and scoring methodologies.
2. Lead a team of credit risk analysts:
Recruit, train, and mentor a team of credit risk professionals.
Set performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback.
Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
Work closely with product, operations, and technology teams to enhance credit risk assessment processes.
Provide input and support in developing new products and lending strategies.
Collaborate with collections and recovery teams to manage credit risk throughout the customer lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience (7+ years) in credit risk management within the financial services industry, preferably in lending to small businesses.
Strong understanding of credit risk principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Proven track record of developing and implementing credit risk strategies in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in managing and leading a team of credit risk professionals.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of credit risk modelling techniques and statistical analysis tools.
Familiarity with fintech lending platforms and related technologies is desirable.
