Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in finance and a flair for effective communication? We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join our client in Northamptonshire.

As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's credit and collections processes, ensuring timely payments and maintaining healthy relationships with their valued clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing a queue system of allocated accounts
- Scheduling call backs to customers
Contacting customers with accounts in arrears via telephone, email and letter to determine their situation
- Writing letters and emails proactively and in response to customers and external agencies
- Preparing files for repossession or legal action
- Responding to customer letters and email queries
- Liaising with debt management agencies
- Taking manual payments over the telephone
- Taking inbound calls from customers regarding their agreement
- Liaising with other departments where necessary in order to effectively manage situations
- Reviewing customer credit files
- Using trace systems to locate customers
- Any other adhoc duties as and when required

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable management, or a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk assessment, and collection techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-centric approach.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented mind-set with exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and a diplomatic approach to conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of relevant legal regulations related to credit and collections is a plus.
