The Role The Finance Analyst roles reports into the Finance Director and comes with a mentored relationship to both the Finance Controller as well as Finance Director. The ideal candidate will have a good handle on understanding monthly reports and strong analytical skills. This role will support the Finance Director with the budget & forecasting cycles, data strategies, sales dashboard, commercial finance and supporting with any further fundraisers. The full responsibilities are as follows: · Support the Finance Director with the budgeting & planning cycle · Work closely with function leads to update rolling forecast, capturing risks & opportunities against the budget· Attend the weekly Trading meeting producing insights and analysis where required to support performance of the sales, marketing & operations teams· Analyse competitor and market data and share findings across the business· Work closely with the sales team to understand their sales pipeline· Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, providing actionable insights in the monthly business performance review meeting with the senior team· Create the 3-year business model with the Finance Director to support a future funding round, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow· Create margin analysis by channel, product, customer and reviewing the impact of sales product mix on gross profit· Develop scenario analysis models for strategic options e.g. international expansion, new product launches, impact of marketing campaigns· Conducting deep dives on overhead spend and share recommendations for savings· Provide engaging presentations in meetings to improve understanding and drive business performance· Ad hoc projects to help drive the strategic direction of the businessWhat our client would like to see:· Confident written and verbal communication skills· Confident ability to present analysis to senior stakeholders as well as to translate findings for non-finance stakeholders· Previous Experience managing budgets, forecasts, sales dashboards or commercial finance· Part Qualified or Finalist ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ICAS · Experience of using PowerBi, or Tableau or similar analysis tools· Excellent Organisational skills· Real desire to learn and progress quicklyWhat we would like to see:· Advance Excel skills and experience with Netsuite would be beneficial· Experience with product-based business. This could be with a food, drink, fashion, retail, ecommerce, cosmetics, or fashion brand for example. · Passion for the SME / Scaleup / Startup space.
