SEN BEHAVIOURAL SUPPORT TA £65-£75 (EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)
Your new school
Hays will offer you work within primary and secondary schools and SEN settings . The SEN schools provide education for students who have additional needs that include social, emotional, and mental health needs. There will be a supportive network of staff who work closely as a team to ensure that the students make progress and develop socially.
Your new role
You will work alongside teachers and teaching assistants to support students in the classroom. You will be required to monitor students behaviour regularly and promote good behaviour at all times. You may experience extremely challenging behaviour and should therefore have experience dealing with similar situations. In some roles you may also be asked to undertake training for positive restraint handling if you will be required to restrain students where necessary.
What you'll need to succeed
The students can be prone to entering 'crisis mode' and therefore you will need to be calm and resilient to ensure that you are able to manage these challenging situations. It would be beneficial if you were already trained in dealing with these situations (MAPA Training etc). You will need to have experience working with special educational needs and have experience working with children within the last 2 years.
