Apex Education Recruitment are working for and on behalf of an outstanding School in the Rainham area of Havering; to appoint three Teaching Assistants to support special needs students in mixed-age specialist classes.

Start 6 September (notice periods will be taken into consideration) 30 hours a week - term time only

All successful candidates will be working towards a permanent contract.

The school is outstanding and has a great staff team and support programme; firmly committed to the development of its staff. We are seeking candidates who want to make a difference to young lives with special needs

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience and knowledge of working with children with a wide range of abilities
  • Secure knowledge and skills relating to strategies in working with pupils with Complex Learning Needs
  • An interest, motivation and passion for working with special needs children
  • Calm, controlled and effective communication and relate well to all children and adults within the school
  • The ability to reflect on own behaviour to ensure teams are strong and working together to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Be able to inspire, motivate and support our pupils, encouraging inclusion of all pupils.
  • Have a calm and patient nature.
  • Be willing to learn and develop in the role.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within this
  • Be comfortable to manage students personal care as and when required
  • A high level of professionalism and the ability to distinguish personal and professional boundaries in school related relationships both in and outside of the school
  • Level 2 (GCSE) Qualifications in English and Maths

Candidates with experience from a care background working with learning disabilities may also be considered.
