ShortList Recruitment are working with a leading non-for-profit organisation in Liverpool who are looking for an Application Support Manager to join their growing team.

The successful candidate will lead, motivate and engage with a team of Application Support Analysts and Database Administrator to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service, including all aspects of application, database, software support and maintenance, developing and implementing operational objectives to underpin the IT strategy.

You will lead the team in providing comprehensive, responsive, and professional second and third-line application support and maintenance services, as well as ensuring the implementation and ongoing maintenance standards and controls across the organisation’s software and databases.

The ideal candidate will have experience and confidence to resolve a variety of technical challenges such as escalations for advice and guidance from support and/or support issue resolution and have experience of defining and conformance to software development standards, tools and techniques.

Key skills for the Application Support Manager to have:

Experience of defining and, conformance to software development standards, tools and techniques.

  • Experience of managing external suppliers, including costs, contracts, service levels.
  • Typically, the role owner will have experience of one or more of the following mainstream development languages: VB / VBA, Java, .Net, Unix Scripts and awareness of the following set of database technologies: MS Access, SQL Server, Ingres, Sybase, Progress, MySQL.
  • Strong understanding of the issues surrounding information and data security and validity.
  • Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Results driven with strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically analyse complex information, and experience of providing meaningful management information.
  • Experience in the housing sector or for a non-for-profit

The Application Support Manager will be entitled to a salary up to £60,000 (DOE) and an excellent range of benefits plus a fantastic company culture.

The role will currently be fully remote, and can continue to be so long-term if desired. The office is based in Liverpool and can be commutable from Birkenhead, Chester, Preston, Warrington and Widnes. To apply, click here!
