Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working for a well established, Private Equity backed manufacturing business in Lincoln as they look to recruit a fully qualified and experienced Financial Controller into the business.

They currently employ an interim FD who is there for a period of time to help with the reorganisation and restructure of the business and administrative operations but once this has been completed, there is every chance for this role to become more involved in the business and strategy.

Reporting directly into the Finance Director you will assist in overseeing a team of 2/3 accounts staff and will be responsible for running the day to day financials as well as providing robust MI and Management Accounting information.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

oEnsure accurate preparation of the monthly management accounts, and assist FD with Board pack preparation
oTracking profitability of all projects and undertaking regular reviews with CSMs to assess and analyse project performance, leading regular formal contract profitability meetings with the MD and CSMs to inform the CSM bonus calculation
oMaintaining balance sheet reconciliations for deferred income, accrued income, CoS accruals and Stock and WIP nominal codes (i.e. codes directly pertaining to revenue and gross margin)
oSupervising Assistant Management Accountant and Accounts Assistant to ensure timely and accurate reporting of overheads and review fixed asset, prepayment, accrual, control account and other relevant balance sheet reconciliations
oSupporting the Group Sales Director with Sales Order Intake reporting and variance analysis and performing quarterly sales commission calculation reviews
oProduction of monthly/quarterly forecasts, annual budget and long-range plans updates
oOversee business partnering across the entire Finance Team to ensure regular liaison with budget/cost centre holders to ensure accuracy of forecasts, in addition to engagement, ownership and accountability for financial performance of respective cost centres
oLead weekly sales forecast update meeting to ensure pertinence of information and projections
oLiaise with CSMs, Group Sales Director and Head of Coatings and Repairs as required to maintain accuracy of sales forecasts.
oPartner with and assist the Sales Support and CSM teams in project costing, forecasting and profitability analysis, providing full life-cycle support from quote through to project completion.
oEnsure financial and administrative disciplines are embedded and maintained within the CSM team with regards to project structuring and cost allocation to enable improved transparency of project performance/profitability
oPerform detailed financial review of all quotations, ensuring costings are accurate and consistent. Seek input from Material Control/Engineering/Procurement as appropriate to ensure BOMs used for costing purposes remain accurate
oMaintain robust controls to ensure all warranty and risk release spend is approved prior to commencement; track and report on costs incurred, ensuring spend remains within approved limits
oReview variance analysis performed by the Assistant Management Accountant to ensure overhead costs are controlled, variances are understood, and any opportunities for savings are identified and maximised
oLead regular debtor reviews to ensure aged debt remains within targeted KPIs and invoices are raised on a timely basis, minimising accrued income and maximising cashflow
oSupport the Finance Director with ad-hoc reporting requirements as needed to satisfy lender and investor requests and requirements
oProvide insight and analysis to the Finance Director, and where appropriate the Managing Director and other members of the Senior Management Team as applicable to drive improvements to internal processes.
oSupport the annual external audit process.
oProvide an excellent level of 'customer service' to internal and external stakeholders by resolving queries in a timely and accurate manner and act as a visible, collaborative partner to the busines
oAct as champion for EFACS business system; use knowledge to support other users, identify and report any issues, suggest potential improvements
oOversee preparation of the monthly payroll by the Assistant Management Accountant
oReview of monthly VAT Returns prepared by the Assistant Management Accountant and ensure timely filing of VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat and ONS Survey returns as applicable
oSupport the development of direct reports by taking responsibility for performance management and providing informal, on the job mentorship and coaching
oPerform any other reasonable duties assigned by immediate line manager or senior management within the business

To be considered for this role you MUST have the following:

*CIMA, ACCA OR ACA qualification (Essential)
*At least 5 years' experience in an accounting environment
*Experience of working in a managerial finance role
*Experience of project and cost accounting
*Proven experience of financial forecasting
*Experience of preparing and presenting management accounts and supporting reports/analysis
*Proven ability to interact effectively with senior executives
*Proven experience at working within a constantly evolving environment
*Experience of ERP systems in manufacturing
*A broad understanding of manufacturing or overhaul environment
*Excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to provide a quick resolution to problems
*Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers
*Strong IT skills, including advanced level skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
*Strong team ethic
*Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
*Strong decision-making skills
*Resilient and resourceful with a can-do attitude
*Ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure, delegate effectively and be self-motivating.
