Applicants need excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail; and work to a high degree of accuracy when it comes to working with facts and figures, with the ability to identify trends. It’s high pressure work and the deadlines are tight, but it’s an exciting, dynamic and rewarding environment.

Role objectives

The Finance Graduate will sit within our Finance function and report to the Finance Manager. Day to day activities can involve shadowing more senior members of staff, undergoing further qualifications such as early stage CIMA exams, and embarking on continuous professional development. By demonstrating their knowledge and skills, the aim is that the selected finance graduate will ideally be able to progress within their chosen career path at the end of the initial 2-year contract.

The role will be rotational, meaning you have the opportunity to work in more than one field during the course of the programme. This can be beneficial if you want to develop transferrable skills and keep your options open for your next steps.

Brief Overview of the Key Functions

Accounting & Controlling - Responsible for preparing the month end management accounts and liaising with external auditors on a variety of issues. Also required to produce month end draft results to communicate to senior management.

Commercial Finance - Responsible for reconciling volumes used by customers between industry data and our data.

Credit Control - This team is focused on collecting in cash from customers whose accounts are overdue. Working closely with the billing team and the customers is essential to resolve queries and disputes to bring customer accounts up to date.

Accounts Payable - The role of this department is to ensure supplier and broker invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment.

Accounts Receivable - This role involves allocating customer payments against the correct invoice and account. Any differences are reconciled and allocated accordingly.

Financial Planning - The role in this team will include preparing budgets, forecasts and management information which is required to support management decision making. It would also include working with various stakeholders and working to provide support as a finance business partner.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Our teams also rely on a solid foundation of knowledge gained through education and experience. We would expect you to have a degree level education in Business, Finance, Accounting or a similar discipline focused on analytics.

In addition, we seek:

  • In final year of study for Bachelor’s/Master’s degree
  • Fluent written and verbal communication in English
  • Experience in positions that require analysis
  • Experience in Excel (e.g., sum, if, pivots, lookups)
  • Experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Proven ability to develop new ideas and solutions
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritise workload, and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with peers and various levels of management
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g. SQL, MS Access, Schematic)
  • A second European language is a plus (verbal and written)
