The Retail Mortgages Distribution Team are a key team in promoting Aldermore's mortgages to both the intermediary and direct to consumer markets. By understanding the marketplace and optimizing the tools available to us we are there to help the business achieve its lending ambitions.

The role of Mortgage Adviser is central to our Direct team. You will be working alongside other Mortgage Advisers and Mortgage Support Assistants, to deliver exceptional outcomes to Aldermore customers.

When the time is right, we would love to welcome you to our Manchester office. In the meantime, you will be based remotely. You'll be made to feel part of your new team by your Line Manager and colleagues through regular contact and virtual interaction.

What would your day look like?

  • Gain and maintain competence in several pathways including initial enquiries, non-advised buy to let, advised owner-occupied, advised buy to let, non-advised specialist buy to let.
  • Call customers who have made mortgage enquiries, conduct affordability assessments, and determine eligibility by correctly interpreting lending policy.
  • Conduct mortgage appointments via telephone and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Work effectively with Mortgage Support Assistants and support their knowledge and development.
  • Skilfully manage customer's applications, build relationships with Aldermore underwriting teams, expertly manage cases through to offer and completion by working collaboratively with the Mortgage Support Assistants.
  • Maintain high standards of administration including completion of fact-find and suitability letter documentation.
  • Display a high level of attention to detail, professionalism, responsibility, and judgment to protect the Bank from risk.
  • Being an advocate of and in delivering Aldermore's Promises and to be clear, caring and in curious when interacting with customers and colleagues. To act with integrity and professionalism with an awareness of regulatory frameworks and responsibilities.
  • Occasionally handling incoming residential and buy to let mortgage enquiry calls from new and existing customers and provide an excellent customer journey.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge and awareness of Aldermore's mortgage products and the Bank's wider products and services.

What do we expect of you?

  • CeMAP qualified
  • Previous experience of working in a mortgages/financial services environment
  • Excellent telephone manner - clear, caring, and curious.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of identifying risk.
  • An appreciation of the importance of working within a Certified role within a regulated environment, and an understanding of the responsibilities that go alongside this.
  • Able to communicate to a high standard, both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer literate with an ability to work with common IT platforms.
  • Ability to work productively and efficiently with others and to contribute to team goals and objectives.
