Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to assist the Commercial Finance team in delivering timely and accurate information to the business through analysis of business unit performance. To utilise financial analysis techniques to provide insight, analysis and trends on critical business issues impacting the day to day performance of a business unit for consideration by senior stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collects and analyses financial information to support commercial decision making
  • Identifies and monitors underlying drivers of cost and revenue variances between actual expenditure vs. forecast/budget, highlighting issues and margin impact where necessary
  • Works proactively with the business to analyse and build the forecasts, improves data capture and process and helps generate useful insight to share with the business
  • Supports the business in their development of short, medium and long term resourcing requirements
  • Provides analytical support focused around obtaining the optimal balance of contract pricing
  • Participates on bid teams for pitches and new business driving appropriate commercial terms, pricing and profitability
  • Partners with senior commercial finance management and the business to provide management with the timely analysis, intelligence, insight, challenge and recommendations they need to make operational, financial, and strategic decisions
  • Leads the monthly financial analysis process for the market ensuring business leaders understand all the key drivers of performance. Facilitates and drives the annual budgeting and monthly and quarterly financial forecasting processes. Is responsible for developing improved financial reports and analysis, developing best in class forecast models and ensuring appropriate escalation of business critical issues. Ensures key trends in financial performance key are understood and that management understands the options to improve performance
  • Works with Business Leaders to improve revenue and margin forecasting, including enhanced pipeline management and analysis. Supports the various Group initiatives to improve OP % margin delivery through the business by offering timely analysis and support, providing valuable insight and costed options to improve performance and deep analysis of client/revenue trends. Works with the business to drive the client profitability workstream and ensure that margin improvement plans are developed within the business
  • Supports the Senior Business Partner/Manager, as necessary with high quality and insightful analysis as requested from time to time and works with them to deliver impact with the business
  • Supports analysis of Client Profitability and identifies and supports initiatives to improve profitability/margin
  • Supports the business in their development of short, medium and long-term resource requirements
  • Works proactively with the business to drive process improvements
  • Support ad hoc financial information requests as and when required

Key Requirements

  • Part/Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Media / Advertising sector experience desirable
  • Excellent IT skills and experience using the Paprika accounting system (desirable)
  • Experience of using BPC or similar consolidation/reporting tool
  • Good levels of Excel knowledge
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and change and a willingness to collaborate across teams, brands and locations
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
