Job Description

Manned guarding and security BDM and BDD 45-60k basic plus commission plus, car and benefits.

You will need experience in selling Security Solutions, or bundled FM services of a bid and tender nature tender into commercial business to be considered for this role, living either in the Midlands or North West

We are a well respected and long established UK Cleaning / Security and soft FM business with Offices UK wide. As a result of continued growth and our planned Europe wide strategy we are looking to grow both our Security and Cleaning services division in the UK.

The purpose of this Job Description is to identify key task elements and responsibilities of the role. It cannot be a definitive description of all the tasks that a Business Development Manager (BDM) may be required to complete.

KEY OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE:

To generate new sales for the company including additional non-contractual business and sales in cleaning and facility services.

The BDM needs to work on four levels, ensuring that all of the activities are engaged at the same time in order to achieve positive results:

  1. Work on tender opportunities in both the public and private sector with a annual target of 1.5 million per annum. Tenders will range from 100k-300k as a norm and up to 2 million as you progress.
  2. Generate and develop longer term prospects and ensure there is a top 20 prospect list; which will lead to eventual quotation opportunities.
  3. Self-generate and convert medium size tender opportunities on a regular basis.
  4. Attending and converting the generated telemarketing appointments.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Growth and Profitability

To achieve or exceed the individual sales target, ensuring that the company’s profit and financial requirements are met.

Identification of potential new business opportunities, including prospecting for new business, and researching those prospects.

To take personal responsibility for the identification and development of the top 20 prospects (by size) in each trading area.

Establishing contact, making appointments with relevant potential clients and promoting the company to them.

Carry out surveys of client’s premises and prepare costings following the company’s procedures.

Prepare a proposal of services for the potential clients, including presentation materials to present the proposal to the clients; for new sales and retendering opportunities.

To negotiate the award of the contract.

Generate opportunities for the company to provide potential clients with quotations for additional services.

As required undertake necessary work when existing business is reviewed and/or retendered.

To work closely with the operational team, Telemarketing and Sales Administration Department in order to optimise and gain sales opportunities.

To ensure the operational management have all necessary information and assistance to ensure an efficient handover and contract start.

To attend networking events.

To agree and obtain authorisation for quotations with the line manager and/or Managing Director.

To ensure all management and control systems are adhered to, and that the company is complying with Health and Safety, HR, quality and environmental standards.

To ensure all company policies and procedures are complied with.

Personal

To generate sales of new, additional and non-contractual business efficiently and in a professional manner, ensuring a professional image at all times.

To follow guidance and direction given by the management team to ensure that company policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.

Attend company training and meetings, as and when required.

To train other personnel in sales techniques.
