A large Preston based highly sought-after employer are looking to expand their Finance team and have a new opportunity for an Assistant Accountant. The Opportunity:

Due to Company growth, the Treasury team are seeking a talented and passionate Assistant Accountant to join the busy department. Reporting to the Treasury Analyst, this role supports the delivery of an effective treasury management and reporting service across the Group.

As part of their growth strategy and continued expansion, there will be the opportunity to progress into more senior positions following your continued efforts, hard work and studies.

The Duties:

  • Ensuring the timely transmission of payments for all group companies.
  • Assisting in the completion of bank mandate forms and other banking returns.
  • Completing daily & monthly treasury accounting processes including month end accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting the preparation of short and medium term cashflow forecasts
  • Monitoring cash and intercompany balances.
  • Preparing and distributing daily cash and liquidity reports.
  • Supporting improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Treasury Team.
  • Working collaboratively with other teams to resolve treasury related queries that may arise.

The Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment, have a strong work ethic and great interpersonal skills.

You will be AAT qualified/ an accounting graduate, looking to work towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualifications. This role requires an individual who is keen to excel in their career within a short space of time.

You will have a strong personality and be an excellent communicator with all levels, even at such an early stage in your career. You will be confident, enthusiastic, and resilient. You will be able to cope with managing your own demanding workload as well as with busy periods within the financial calendar.
