Job Description

We're looking to add a Technical Sales Executive to our sales team. You'll either be experienced in sales, with a mechanical engineering or a telecoms background, or you've gained an engineering or a telecoms background from service, installation, technical support or similar, so you're commercially minded. We can accommodate either. We're based in Rutland, but you'll travel to customers.
 
BASIC SALARY: £25,000 - £30,000 dependant on your relevant experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: Technical Sales Executive
 
What's holding you back in your career?
 
We'd like you to have sales experience and have sold capital equipment already, but we'll happily look at good mechanical engineers, or telecoms engineers, If you've had commercial exposure. As a result, we will also consider you if you are a service engineer, installation engineer, technical support engineer or similar.

You'll play a key role for us - covering account management and developing new business in your regions. You can have the whole of Northern England, Scotland and Ireland if you like to travel!!
 
I would expect you to be away about 1 week in 8, as let's face it you don't want to drive to Inverness for just one meeting, do you?
 
You won't be afraid to get your hands dirty and give live demonstrations of machinery to potential customers. Your induction and training with us will involve shadowing existing sales engineers and having solid product training with R&D and the shop floor.
 
Your bonus will be completely uncapped - as all the best sales roles are.
 
Your main responsibilities: Technical Sales Executive
 
· Manage internal customer accounts who have bought from us before - you'll maximise those accounts and up-sell them to increase your revenue
· Take customer enquiries, book meetings; and win their trust
· Generate your own business through your own leads or networking
 
Your Background: Technical Sales Executive
 
You'll either be an experienced B2B industrial salesperson within capital equipment or machinery   
 
Or you're a mechanical engineer and you've been in a customer facing or technical / commercial role like field service, installation or technical support and you have practical experience with capital equipment or reciprocating machinery or similar
 
We would also welcome applications from candidates who have been involved with telecoms or fibre optic cabelling.
 
THE COMPANY:
 
We design our own niche electro-mechanical special purpose machinery and equipment that installs fibre optic cables. We also do a lot of associated equipment too. There's plenty for you to sell.
 
We don't expect you to have any existing knowledge of those types of machines, but you will bring a broad mechanical engineering understanding to us.
 
We supply to the National Grid/ Power Grid & smaller energy contractors. We also supply into multiple industry sectors such as Civils & Telecoms.
