This Hard Services Facilities Manager position is based within a small cluster of buildings in Sheffield City Centre with the focus of the post being on the building fabric and its upkeep.
Naturally you won't be a one trick pony, and are able to have input into other disciplines when it comes to contract management or discussions around works that will affect colleagues, or their schemes that may affect you.
The core element of the post is ensuring that the reactive and planned maintenance is bang up to date, that all statutory requirements are met while appropriate records are maintained.
You have the support of a FM helpdesk staffed by people who know what buildings look like and are not just working from a script as well as an excellent team of in-house personnel and specialist contractors who are familiar with the site and the standards they need to deliver.
As the Hard Services Facilities Manager, you will be ensuring that works orders are raised appropriately, that the buildings data management system is updated and keen to have input in to how things can be made better. There is a desire to raise the bar and not simply keep doing the same old thing in the same old way.
From your side, you will have need to have worked on the client side previously and of course, you will need to have a fabric background. If you are a M&E guru or focused on civils or soft services, this unfortunately won't be the one for you.
You'll need to be comfortable working in an IT and process based environment where you know where information is and how it can help you to ensure everything is happening as you expect it to.
There is a team that will be looking to you for leadership and direction, so you'll have to be happy leading the way when it comes to customer service, problem solving and demonstrating how a job should be done.
You'll also need to have some certification as we're looking for someone who has a HND in building or construction backed up by live experience in a maintenance and minor works environment. You will also need to have your IOSH and be happy working with maintenance management software such as Planon or Concept.
On the rewards side, the rate quoted is PAYE plus holiday pay, there is a 35 hour week in place complete with flexibility around start/finish times while the contract is expected to last for 12 months.
If you wish to work as a limited company, we can accommodate that with the rate being uplifted by the holiday pay and employers NI, but the role comes under IR35 so relevant deductions will have to be made.
