Manage the provision of specialist transport required for individual passengers to ensure that they are transported safely avoiding high risk issues, including identifying the specific equipment required for individual pupils (e.g. specialist restraints for both clients, wheelchairs, harnesses, specialist car seats etc.)
Procure and award all transport in line with the County's standing orders using the Dynamic Purchasing System for taxis and Intend software.
Direct responsibility for managing volunteers to deliver safe secure transport
Work with Adult Services to review arrangements and re-plan and reorganise transport in a way which can contribute to on-going savings.
Plan and award tenders in line with HCC standing orders, monitoring and reviewing of contracts, preplanning and renegotiating where required ensuring value for money.
Investigate financial irregularities identified in supplier invoices and budget expenditure reports.
Allocate expenditure to appropriate costs centres to provide management information to Adult Services.
Make decisions on best use of financial resources and implement contract changes
