Just Food Recruitment are recruiting for a People Manager to support the Head of People in delivering the people agenda for a food manufacturer.

You will be responsible for delivering a robust HR operations service to the site which covers all general HR policies, procedures, and processes. You will work closely with all key stakeholders to ensure the culture and environment enable our colleagues to grow and develop. 

About the Role –

The People Department is a generalist function that covers the complete employee lifecycle, and you will oversee each critical point. This includes working with managers on recruitment through to leaver analysis and everything in between.

You will have 5 direct reports so you will be responsible for enduring their objectives are aligned with business goals and their individual development.

You must have sound employment law knowledge and be up to date with the most recent legislation and developments in employment law.

You will manage the SEDEX portal for supplier audits, and you will be lead on the site Ethical Audit.

Support the Technical function with reviews of Customer Codes of Practices, ensuring the people policies and procedures are aligned.

Case management covering all employee relation matters.

Co-chair the Employee Partnership Forum

In partnership with the Operations Lead you will manage the SLA agreement with labour suppliers, ensuring they comply with our standards and customer codes of practices, where applicable.

Support the Training & Compliance Manager with delivering the training objectives for site which includes the apprenticeships courses.

You will be expected to guide and coach managers and be confident in providing feedback in a professional and effective manner, so people feel empowered and able to conduct their managerial responsibilities.

You will also manage the KPI Dashboard, identify trends to feed into the People strategy as well as providing management information to the Executive Leadership Team.

About You -

If you are currently working at Senior HR Advisor/Officer level looking for the next challenge, or keen to get into the food industry then this is a great opportunity.

You will benefit from having at least 3-5 years experience of HR and preferably a Level 5 CIPD qualification or be working towards and have experience of managing a small team.

You must have experience of working in a fast-paced environment and managing tight deadlines.

Be a forward thinker, demonstrate resilience and effectiveness at communicating, and gaining people’s buy-in is essential for this role.

As it is a fast-paced and diverse role you will need to be highly organised. 

Intermediate to advanced IT skills (including MS Office - Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook) is highly important.
