The Company Overview:

Butler rose are partnered with a progressive Manufacturer based in Huddersfield who are looking for a Temporary to Permanent Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a close-knit team and a diverse, friendly workforce. Some in-house training will be offered for this position.

You will start this role as a Temporary member of staff via Butler Rose, but the intention is to make this appointment permanent after a few months. As a result, you will need to be either immediately available or available at short notice.

Hybrid working is on offer. My Client work 37.5 hours per week with flexible start & finish times including a 3pm finish on a Friday!

Your new role as Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant:

Your duties will include:

Taking responsibility for the whole Sales Ledger process, checking everything is running smoothly with customer accounts and highlighting any problems

Working closely with the Managing Director to determine account credit limits

Process credit account applications, obtain credit reports, monitoring credit ratings and securing credit insurance

Checking credit limits and ensuring they are not exceeded, taking relevant action if this occurs. Be aware of accounts that are struggling.

Proforma invoicing

Putting payments on the system, raising, and uploading invoices and credits, posting daily receipts, reconciling accounts, and submitting statements of accounts

Chasing payments via phone / email, ensuring accounts are paid according to terms, updating 'stop list' and occasionally issuing claims to county court

Create weekly Debtor's report and distribute to other staff members

Obtaining letters of credit when dealing with overseas Clients

Covering for the Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger & Finance Manager during periods of absence

The Experience & Qualifications Required:

The successful Candidate shall be/have:

A good understanding of Invoice Discounting

Sound Sales Ledger / Credit Control experience

Some knowledge of Purchase Ledger, Payroll, Management Accounts & Accruals would be a bonus

Willingness to be hands-on, muck in & help each other out. Ability to interact with people from a variety of different backgrounds.

Knowledge of Sage Accounts & Sage Line 50

Basic Excel skills

Your Reward & The Package on Offer:

As Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant, you shall receive

A salary of £22,000 once made permanent (equivalent hourly / daily rate until that point)

Annual bonus

25 days holiday + bank holidays. Christmas shutdown.
