Location: Manchester - Hybrid work supported, remote working can be discussed

Global Procurement is committed to deliver a significant contribution towards Brambles strategic priorities, enabling the markets to win through Procurement using breakthrough category strategies and sourcing execution to support operating margin improvement and competitive advantage.

The Project Procurement Manager will drive value through ensuring the commercial elements of spend in the Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) category are executed in line with our procurement strategy. This role will lead a key project to map our suppliers in the MRO category, help to define spend and best leverage our existing and future supplier relationships and relationships with our plants across the UK and Europe. The role has potential for other indirect projects and working across direct procurement categories as well further down the line.

Key Accountabilities

* Support the European Indirect Procurement Manager and Global Category Managers in the creation and execution of project management plans

* Map the supplier base for the MRO category for our UK and European plants, understanding our spend, needs and how we can leverage spend in the category

* Manage the end to end procurement cycle

* Build fact based and influential businesses cases, following a project management approach to get alignment on stakeholder needs

* Develop and maintain strong working external relationships across a European base of key external suppliers

* Ensuring compliance to Brambles/ CHEP procurement policies and processes

* To deliver, maintain and develop critical reports to the internal business teams in a timely and accurate manner


* A Bachelor’s degree/ equivalent level of education would be preferred

* Working towards CIPS/ CIPS qualified would be useful but not essential

* A formal project management certification or awareness of more structured project management approaches and techniques

Experience / skills

* Demonstrated experience with end-to-end project management applied to procurement

* Experience in procurement applied to a manufacturing/ supply chain environment would be preferred, other sectors considered

* Ability to analyse supplier spend data to build compelling business cases

* The ability to source and tender

* MS Office proficiency with a focus on Excel, experience with SAP / PowerBi useful

* The ability to communicate, influence and persuaded at all levels of an organisation and work collaboratively
