Job Description

Mpeople Recruitment are currently seeking a HR Manager to join a reputable and well-established SME based in Oldham, to look after Human Resources, Health and Safety, and Compliance throughout the business.

Hours: 09:00 – 17:30

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience

Location: Oldham (OL9)

As a growing business our client do not currently have a full-time manager for the 3 disciplines of HR, H&S and Compliance. Our client has many H&S processes in place set up by the incumbent who is retiring at the end of March 2022. As the business matures, our client has recognised the need for specialised skills in the 3 areas, however the business is not large enough for 3 individuals to run each discipline – hence the hybrid role. The new member of the team will be responsible directly to the CEO but will work closely with the other members of the Executive team.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources:

* Overseeing recruitment, selection and onboarding

* Developing & managing an appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings

* Ensuring that our procedures comply with employment regulations

* Monitoring various aspects of employee performance, such as attendance and sick leave

* Accessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs accordingly

* Handling disciplinary processes and formal grievances

Health and Safety:

* Carrying out safety risks assessments prior to starting a new project

* Reviewing all work procedures and ensuring they meet industry safety standards

* Preparing and filing reports for accidents and other safety breaches

* Staying up-to-date with health, safety and environment regulations

* Ensuring safe installation of equipment and overseeing external contractors

* Conducting in-house training sessions on health and safety awareness

Compliance:

* Areas of compliance to consider include FCA, ICO and GDPR

* Conducting interviews and surveys to ensure that employees are compliant with regulations across the company’s various departments

* Conducting investigations to discover the root cause of compliance problems when they arise

* Performing research to stay informed about environmental standards

* Educating employees and partners on how to improve compliance

* Examining and improving auditing processes to resolve compliance issues

* Leading and helping in the design of programmes that improve compliance
