Job Description

Our Metering & Billing operations department is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer service experience to over 100,000 gas, electric and water customers across the UK. This specialist team deals with a wide variety of tasks from on-boarding our customers and gathering opening meter readings to investigating metering & billing issues, ensuring our customers’ bills are always accurate.

We have two roles available;

  • Metering (Onboarding) Manager
  • Metering (In-life) Manager

Our Metering Onboardingteam is responsible for the end-to end onboarding process, ensuring customer that have taken out one of our services (Gas, water, electric or a combination of the three) are set up correctly to begin receiving services from us. This includes taking opening meter readings and providing customers with their 1st bill)

Our Metering In-life team is responsible for dealing with queries and questions from existing customers about the gas, water or electric bills or meter readings. The team’s sole purpose is to ensure our customers are receiving accurate bills and that their services are uninterrupted, leasing with 3rd party suppliers when necessary to escalate issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.

The Metering In-life Manager & Metering Onboarding Manager will be responsible for creating a vibrant atmosphere to support a highly engaged team and increase productivity by encouraging teamwork and collaboration. The Metering Team Manager will continuously coach and develop team members, improving their individual and collective capabilities in line with business KPIs as well as advocating self-learning and career progression.

Acting as a role model for our core values, you’ll actively contribute to improving the team processes and procedures and work collaboratively with other departments to deliver on quality, productivity, and KPIs. This role is a hands-on manager role and although you will primarily be leading a team to deliver results you will also manage day to day relationships and act as escalation point with metering industry & 3rd parties.

Experience Required

Successful applicants will be people focused leaders with at least 12 months experience managing a similar operations team, ideally working in Metering (Gas, Water or Electric). You’ll ideally have a track record of managing a high performing team or be able to provide evidence of supporting, mentoring and developing individuals through coaching.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to adapt your communication styles to accommodate individual colleagues & customers. You’ll be highly focused with strong attention to detail and a natural flair for spotting opportunities to make improvement in processes or procedures.
