FIXED TERM CONTRACT - 18 months 60k-70k (CIPS qualified) - possibility for perm extension post project delivery.

This business employs approximately 250 people across a range of production, manufacturing and support functions. They deliver design-led homes fit for 21st century living through a unique technology-enabled approach. They have a facility in Derby with offices in London and constructions sites within the Midlands and South East of England.

They are investing in a second factory capable of producing 7,800 modules per year. This equates to an average daily output of 31 modules. The estimated internal footprint of this facility is 650,000 sq ft with an operational footprint of 630,000 sq ft. This factory will go live in 2023.

The output requirements of the second factory are roughly 7x that of their existing facility and as such will need a considerable logistics operation and a resilient, reliable supply chain. The current material storage space availability is roughly 2 days meaning this supply chain will have to be managed on a just in time basis.

This role will lead the supply chain workstream, designing and implementing the supply chain, logistics operation and internal material movements throughout F2. With dotted line accountability into the existing Head of Logistics, the successful candidate will support the current supply chain team while collaborating with other workstream leads to embed supply chain and logistics knowledge across the programme.

Essential skills/experience:
- Experience of developing and executing supply chain strategies at a senior (decision maker) level for major new sites, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Continually searches for areas of competitive advantage/ cost reduction - outsourcing where more cost-effective methods can be found
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects with changing priorities
- Extensive experience in product sourcing and supply chain from different markets and developing suppliers for the long-term benefit
- Experience of Dual Sourcing to alleviate capacity bottlenecks or to secure supply / better pricing
- Industry experience in the procurement of parts and raw materials for construction and / or manufacturing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a good attention to detail
- Able to communicate effectively within a team and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business
