Events Assistant
Fulltime, Monday - Friday. Hybrid Working

My client are looking for a talented & enthusiastic Events Assistant to join their team.

Over the last 20 years, Their team has expanded substantially, from a few determined individuals to over 250 creative and passionate people … and they are not done yet!

They are on a mission to find the very best to join their awesomely talented team, based right here in Derby.

There’s lots to do

Sitting within the Marketing Team and reporting to the Events Manager, you will have responsibility for a range of media platforms and events throughout the company.

You will support the planning and execution of a sustainable and engaging programme, that adds value their strategic partners, which includes but is not limited to:

• 24 external events.
• 6 internal events.
• Charity corporate golf day.
• The annual conference and after party.

You will:

• Deliver key content via centrally managed media platforms.
• Build relationships with our strategic partners to ensure a suitable budget to support the programme via sponsorship.
• Work closely with the Events Manager to create and maintain budgets for all events.
• Set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on projects with key stakeholders, handling logistics and operations onsite and in person events.
• Work closely with the design team to create bespoke branded content and communications that make their events stand out.
• Plan all high achiever external reward trips.

About You!
Full training will be provided to ensure you can quickly get up to speed, but to be successful in this role you need to demonstrate:

• Experience of managing medium (50 delegates) to large scale events (2000 delegates) from concept to delivery, both in person and virtually.
• Experience managing day to day budget for internal & external events.
• The ability to liaise effectively with key stakeholders.
• Exceptional organisational skills, with proven experience of meeting deadlines.
• The ability to set goals and deadlines, striving to exceed.
• The ability to build, manage and maintain supplier relationships
• Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentational).
• The ability to use initiative & challenge how we do things
• The ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of professionals at all levels of seniority.
• Familiarity with the operation of a range of virtual platforms, such as Zoom, Remo & MS Teams.
• The ability to promote events and gain traction with our Partners using social media.
• A hands-on attitude to exceeding expectations from stakeholders

• Experience of working in the financial service sector is desirable.
• Experience using project/ events management software, we use
• Any previous experience creating events web pages would be a bonus

Where you’ll be based
We offer hybrid working to all employees, so your week can be split between the office and your home, but you must be willing and able to travel to events nationally, as and when required.
