Job Description

Use your exceptionalResearch & Innovation quantitative data analysis skills in the role you’ve been waiting for!

Our client is an independent think-tank and registered charity focused on making the UK the best place in the world for universities and businesses to collaborate.

Collaboration is critical to tackling many of the greatest challenges facing the world today, from driving the research and innovations that will help make us healthier, wealthier and greener, to delivering the highly skilled, diverse and adaptable workforce needed to drive the future.

The role

  • You’ll act with initiative, identify interesting research questions and help design suitable ways of gathering and collecting evidence.
  • You will play a key role in using modern technology in new and innovative ways to develop evidence and underpin policy - spotting trends, gaps in the research and data, and suggesting the questions which need asking.
  • You’ll also play an integral role in research projects, supporting the collection and analysis of evidence and recommending existing sources of data. You’ll undertake literature reviews and share your insights across the team.
  • You’ll also help commission research and analysis from external academics or consultancies and work closely with the Senior R&I Analyst in a number of exciting areas.
  • You’ll also monitor statistical updates, such as the labour market, research and innovation data from the ONS, and data releases by the Higher Education Statistical Agency and UCAS.

The candidate

  • You'll have a degree in economics or statistics or a related subject.
  • You’ll be adept at quantitative research, and proficient in Excel and SPSS and/or STATA.
  • You’ll have expert knowledge of statistical methods and social science data sources.
  • You’ll be able to identify and interpret statistical trends and relationships.
  • Above all, you’ll be curious and inquisitive, with a nose for seeking out trends and gaps.
