Pay: KR3 pro rata Start Date: 1st September 2021An exciting opportunity has arisenat our small village school. We have a vacancy for an experienced TeachingAssistant to work as part of our small but committed team, supporting pupils withspecific learning needs both 1:1 and in small groups, initially in our mixedYear R/Year 1 classroom. Ideally, candidates will haveexperience of working with children in a variety of settings and environments,bringing with them good communication skills to allow pupils the opportunitiesto develop social skills, positive behaviour patterns, raise self-esteem andimprove independent working skills. The successful applicant will:Have experience and up-to-datetraining working with primary school children, ideally in the Foundation Stageor Key Stage 1;Be able to show empathy towardsthe children, managing difficult situations with care andunderstanding;Have experience of working withchildren with Autistic Spectrum Condition;Be optimistic, enthusiastic andcommitted to working collaboratively with colleagues to provide a highquality learning environment;Be able to work under the directsupervision of class teachers, and help ensure the care, welfare andachievement of all children;Be a 'hands on' practitioner whois able to use their initiative;Provide general support to staffand pupils including preparation of resources;Have a warm, yet professional mannertowards colleagues, pupils and visitors at all times, and contribute to thepositive ethos of the school.Be committed to going above andbeyond in the best interests of our children.The hours for this postwill be 8.30 am - 3.15pm; 30 hours a week. This includes half an hour oflunchtime supervision. It is a smallschool which has served the community since 1852. We have the capacity forapproximately 60 pupils. Our children come from the immediate vicinity andfurther afield from villages, such as Hadlow and Plaxtol, as well as Tonbridge.The school is currently organisedinto three classes. Our unique setting and school structure allow for focusedteaching to meet the ability and personality of each child; staff get to knowpupils quickly and tailor their lessons to facilitate effective learning forall.
