Job Title: Field Application Engineering Manager

Reporting Line: Sales and Operations Director-EMEA

Role Description:

Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer-focused Application Engineer to join their European business unit. You will work closely with the Global product teams as well as the local team to provide focussed solutions to new customers, as well as the engineering and application services required to support existing customers. The role is critical to our business in that you are pivotal to delivering the sales and profit number for the market - it is a multi-faceted role requiring the individual to be confident in their engineering and technical abilities and to be sales/customer facing.

As they are an international company, they operate across many sectors, but with a current focus on the Broadcast and Medical sectors. Your role will have links to the global teams for the successful growth support of group customers across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse customer requirements and ensure products meet customer requirements appropriately
  • Assist customers in understanding products and perform product demonstrations for various applications/use cases
  • Work closely with companies Business Development Managers (BDMs) and inside sales team to provide technical support in closing new business and provide input on quoting process and proposal generation
  • Supervisory responsibility for Project team
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to drive customer requirements
  • Overseeing the installation and configuration of system and perform troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain documents for designs and application notes and provide updates
  • Coordinate with Product Management and Engineering, identify issues and resolve
  • Develop and determine various product features, perform tests, and prepare documents
  • Participate in technical meetings and prepare training programs for the sales team

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of LCD displays (Essential)
  • Knowledge and experience of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and related hardware (Essential)
  • Knowledge and experience of development and implementation of BIOS/firmware, and application software integration
  • Knowledge and experience of development and implementation of embedded system design using x86 and ARM architectures, and related operating systems Linux, Windows 10, Android, etc.
  • Embrace a customer-centric mindset and be comfortable in an outward-facing role
  • Maintain knowledge on industry trends and resolve design issues
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience with MS Project, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project management tools
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualifications

Salary £40K -£45k depending on experience

28 days plus bank holiday

Monday to Friday 9:00am-17:30pm

Based in West Sussex
