My client is an established and successful family run global logistics and fruit distribution company who have a reputation for excellence within the sectors they operate in. They are a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking company that service a wide range of sectors within the food produce and distribution industry for some of the UK’s well-known and trusted brands.

They are looking to recruit a warehouse operative, who will play a crucial role within the logistic operations of the warehouse.

Role Overview:
To ensure daily pick rates is achieved, at the same time as meeting daily personal targets set by the warehouse manager and to ensure the warehouse maintains high levels of quality, cleanliness, and Health & Safety at all times.

Responsibilities:

The role-holder will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following tasks:

·Assist with the unloading of vehicles and the checking-in of stock

·Sort and place materials or items on to racks, and shelves.

·Collect items from throughout the warehouse, prepare and complete warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to a schedule.

·Perform warehouse inventory controls via scanner and or through a computer

·To work safely and report any hazards or near misses to the Supervisor or Shift Manager.

  • To work efficiently and effectively ensuring that you contribute to the daily Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the department as set by the Shift Manager and the needs of the business.
  • To maintain high levels of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping to BRC, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Path Information Unit Audit standards(PIU) at all times through the clean as you go policy.
  • To constantly strive for continuous improvement.
  • To clearly communicate between all colleagues in your team and your Line Managers in a timely manner.
  • To use any equipment in a correct and safe manner and report any issues to your line manager

What we are looking for:

·Proven experience working in a warehouse with an ambient environment.

·Excellent eye for detail with strong organisational skills.

·Experience working towards targets and KPIs in a strict deadline and time-critical environment.

·Experience of working in an e-commerce warehouse environment.

·Physically fit as work involves lifting boxes up and down from the height of a stack of product in excess of two metre and weighing 20Kg.

·A team player with a can-do attitude who can work core working hours, on a shift system with the flexibility to work additional shifts to cover for holidays, sickness and during peak periods e.g., Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mothers’ Day, Easter etc.

What is in for you:

Salary: Days £10.71 to £10.92 per hour and Nights £11.73 per hour

  • On-site parking
  • 28 days holiday a year including bank holidays.
  • Working on average 38.5 hours a week 7 pm to 7 am 4 days on and 4 days off.
