IT Helpdesk Operative

Job Location: Poole, Dorset (nr fleetsbridge)

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 DOE

Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday + free parking & benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Helpdesk Operative to work with a leading company who design, manufacture and supply products to both the B2C & B2B market.

This well-known company have been established over 35 years and pride themselves on their wide range of high quality and in demand products they have to offer and due to continuous success are now an experienced IT Helpdesk Operative to join their friendly team in Poole.

Reporting to the Network & Infrastructure Manager, you will primarily be focussing on 1st line Support, the role involves offering support and technical assistance to members of staff who are using software, hardware, or other computer systems and need help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests and remote access to their computers.

Key responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Installing and configuring software applications / computer systems
  • Responding to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically
  • Diagnosing and solving hardware / software faults
  • Researching questions using available information resources
  • Supporting, maintain and monitor internal systems
  • Documenting resolutions for future reference
  • Redirecting / escalating issues appropriately

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Previous experience in IT Helpdesk / Support role is beneficial but not essential
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other technical products
  • Dependable, enthusiastic and personable
  • Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to deal with people at all levels within the organisation
  • Familiarity with both PC and Mac Hardware and Software
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues

Required technical knowledge;

  • Windows / Apple Desktops
  • Administering MS Exchange
  • MS Office applications
  • Basic networking knowledge
