Job Location: Poole, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Excellent starting salary and Benefits.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, ½ day finish on Fridays, onsite parking.

Due to substantial business growth a leading global manufacturing company based in Poole are seeking to add an experienced Project Manager to their team.

Reporting to the Department Manager and Director, you will be working across the business with the various teams & departments to plan and manage sponsored roadmaps and Client based projects, ensuring they are completed on time, on specification and within budget, focusing on: Road map programs, Client Lead Opportunities and Cost Down Programs.

This position will suit an experienced Project Manager who has excellent communications skills that can work well within a busy team environment across various departments within an in-house design and manufacturing facility.

Within this role you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Driving the fundamentals of project management within our project plan framework.
  • Delivering against Business opportunity project mandate.
  • Leading and motivating the team to achieve: -
    • On time - Delivery (prototypes and mainstream production against expectations)
    • On Cost - In Line with project outlines (product cost and project expenditure)
    • On Quality - in line with project expectations (Mandate and Design specification)
  • Work closely with the cross functional teams to ensure key objectives are prioritised correctly.
  • Reporting progress, managing risks, and focusing on cost adherence.
  • Manage customer contact where required in conjunction with the relevant account owner(s) thus ensuring clarity of information exchange, professionally and in line with the business expectations /goals.
  • Generate and Deliver plan(s) efficiently and in-line within NPI framework and business goals.
  • Work in conjunction with engineering, operations, and quality teams to deliver finals solutions to manufacturing.
  • Occasional Client / Supplier’s visits may be required.
  • Assist in the preparation of department key performance indicators (KPI’s)

This position requires the following key skills and attributes:

  • Project Management experience within a busy manufacturing or design field
  • Formal Qualification in project management (is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate depth of experience).
  • Previous experience in Engineering discipline preferred
  • Self-motivated, both in a team and independently
  • Dynamic approach to motivating others.
  • Computer literate - essential
  • Able to communicate (written & verbal) clearly and effectively in English.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm with an earlier finish on a Friday
