Our dedicated team provides a supportive network both onsite as well as support across the Federation to ensure all our staff feel encouraged to do their best.We are currently looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to deliver art or music lessons within our vibrant primary academy. The purpose of your role will be: To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students' achievement, progress and development. To be responsible for the management and development of teaching within the academy and/or management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training. Under an agreed system of supervision, to take a lead role within the academy to address the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. To provide support for students, the teacher and the academy in order to raise standards of achievement for all students (e.g. SEN, EAL, More Able, all underachieving groups), by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage students to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of students in all aspects of academy life.As part of Harris, you will join a community of staff dedicated to transforming education in London. The successful candidate will possess: GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C or above; NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, and, ideally, an HLTA qualification; Knowledge of Microsoft software; Good knowledge of a range of learning barriers including special needs; Experience of contributing to and assessing of provision for children with a range of needs; Some knowledge of some of the social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds; Ideally, a minimum of two years' school based experience as a TA, or equivalent.Please download the job pack for a full job description and person specification.About Harris Primary Academy East DulwichHarris Primary Academy East Dulwich opened in September 2014 as a two-form entry primary school and is now well established in the community, housed in our brand new modern, bright building and educating five year groups up to Year 4.
